Developed for use by breeders, rice traders, and millers alike, the PaddyCheck 6800 system enables the automated and objective analysis and characterization of paddy rice in only 5 minutes, with no time-consuming de-husking of grains required. Weighing just 3.5 kg and powered by a 4-cell lithium-ion battery, the PaddyCheck is not only powerful, but also compact, ensuring a fast and reproducible analysis of paddy rice at every stage of the process.
By using the PaddyCheck to collect objective data automatically, breeders and traders can improve the continuous work of optimizing the value of rice early in both processes. The PaddyCheck’s fast and intuitive workflow, compliant with AACC Method 61-10.01, ensures that users need little to no training to operate the analyzer. After collecting a representative sample using an instrument such as Perten’s SPD (Sequential Precision Divider) 4200, users simply select the appropriate analysis profile on the PaddyCheck’s touchscreen, and then pour their sample into the PaddyCheck. Combinations of this collected data can then be used to model and predict complex rice attributes such as head rice yield (HRY), allowing sellers, buyers, and processors to obtain optimal value and set pricing based on a quantifiable, objective standard.
