Get PEEK Production Right and Ensure Mechanical and Chemical Properties with DMA Analysis

Introduction

This application note describes a simple experiment on an amorphous polymer. PEEK (polyetheretherketone) is a common polymeric material used for a variety of applications. PEEK is a high-performance semicrystalline thermoplastic with excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties which are maintained when exposed to high temperatures. Because of robustness and other benefits, PEEK is used to fabricate various automotive components like bearings, piston parts, pumps, compressor plate valves, and cable insulation. It is also extensively used in the medical, aerospace, oil & gas, automotive, and chemical process industries. Since PEEK plays a major role in manufacturing it's crucial to make sure that the material meets the specification.
