Rapid Strip Test for Beta-Lactam Antibotic Residues in Milk
The AuroFlow™ Beta-Lactam Strip Test is a qualitative and rapid lateral flow assay designed to detect beta-lactam antibiotic residues in raw commingled cow's milk. This test is designed for rapid field use or reference lab settings. This immunochromatographic assay eliminates the need for a heating block.
The AuroFlow™ lateral flow test strips are designed for the detection of a broad range of antibiotics in raw, commingled cow's milk. These rapid tests detect 14 beta-lactam antibiotics in milk at or below EU and CODEX Maximum Residue Limits (MRL). The combo kits allow simultaneous detection of different classes of antibiotic residues. These state-of-the-art tests also use novel methods which eliminate the need for a heating block. Validation reports are available showing the efficacy of the tests in both room temperature and cold milk. The fast, simplified protocol can be seen in the next tab. For visual interpretation of the test results, T-line signal intensity that is stronger than the signal at the C-line indicates a negative result. Signal at the T-line which is equal or less intense compared to the C-line indicates a positive result.
Beta-lactam antibiotics are a class of broad-spectrum antibiotics, consisting of all antibiotic agents that contain a beta-lactam ring in their molecular structures. This includes penicillin derivatives (penams), cephalosporins (cephems), monobactams, and carbapenems. Most beta-lactam antibiotics work by inhibiting cell wall biosynthesis in the bacterial organism, and they are the most widely used group of antibiotics. Until 2003, when measured by sales, more than half of all commercially available antibiotics in use were beta-lactam compounds.
This kit is manufactured to the international quality standard ISO 9001.
